Dear Readers,
I hope everyone had a great Independence Day. The Hollywood Bowl was fun, but my nine year old was not happy to spend two hours listening to show tunes before the fireworks. I mean, who would think a small child wouldn't like Gershwin? There was a professional orchestra led by a Black conductor no less and all they wanted to do was eat popcorn. Philistine!
I guess there's no accounting for taste, and you can't please everyone. I've been thinking about that lately as my writing projects proliferate. I have four active Vellas - a Christmas romance, a contemporary romance set in Louisville, Kentucky where I'll be attending a wedding in a few weeks, and two dark romances. Plus, I owe you all the follow-up to Bad Girls Do It Well, which has been stewing in my brain for years and is still not cooked. The thing is, I love all these characters and I want to tell all their stories. Olivia Kamara is a driven PI, Tia's an adorkable librarian, pretty much the only thing Camila and Kori have in common is that they're both eighteen. And I guess, they attracted rich assholes. I want to see all my girls get their happy endings and I want my readers to love them like I do.
